The Community Philharmonic Orchestra offers an opportunity to amateur musicians to play alongside and share a stage with professional musicians. It is envisaged that we have an orchestra consisting of at least 50% amateur musicians at all times during performances.

The programme is aimed at mentoring and tutoring at various levels within the orchestra. This will also include life skills orientation.

Other objectives of the programme is to enforce and support the amateur musicians, to create effective role modeling, to create an opportunity to shadow professional conductors resulting in future professional music leaders from these communities.

We will host workshops and music development initiatives within communities to create awareness of opportunities in music and recruit future musicians for the orchestra.
